![]() ![]() I'm afraid to get it and have a severe illness vs just a "mild cold" like my two or three dose friends. I know I won't be totally protected for 14 days but I feel like a sitting duck after having J&J and this new variant everywhere. I haven't caught covid yet in the last two years and did not have any side effects other than a slightly sore arm after the Pfizer. Since the initial research is that J&J is basically useless against Omicron should I consider the Pfizer booster to essentially be my "first dose" of an mRNA, and should I consider getting a second in a month based on the original two dose timelines? Or to wait 3-6 months to get an additional booster when the antibodies are potentially waning? I just got the Pfizer booster this Monday the 20th. ![]() I got J&J as it was the only vax available in my area when they were first being released in March. Hoping everyone heals up fast with no future symptoms. Been reading papers about it for years and now it's finally caught me. Most worrisome thing with covid is news about it possibly affecting your myelin sheath which could cause future MS or persistent/unseen brain inflammation causing alzheimers, dementia, etc in the future. Lost sense of smell/taste this morning so I guess that works.ĭay five and feel fine outside of the headache, lack of appetite, some heartburn/nausea that comes and goes, and the pressure in my sinuses that often makes me feel like I need to sneeze. Have had absolutely zero appetite since Sunday, even the idea of looking at or smelling food is gross. They were also exposed separately on Monday and Tuesday at a sport practice. Roommate started feeling sick late last night and was positive, I took a positive test today. Ear ache went away after a day and two hydrogen peroxide drop treatments. Terrible terrible headache that felt like a vice after I coughed/sneezed. ![]() Sneezing a lot and a cough like you get with a cold or the flu. Got home at 930 Saturday, went to bed at 1130 feeling better and woke up at 6 am Sunday feeling fine except for this persistent headache and eye pain, felt like allergies or a sinus infection. Thought it was a sinus infection since myself and three friends had tested negative before leaving. Four hour wait at the airport before flying and over the course of the day suddenly felt like I had a fever and chills, hard to sleep, lymph nodes very swollen, terrible headache, ear ache. Took two negative covid tests (one at the doctor) within 24 hours of international travel Friday, woke up Saturday at 7 am and felt tired but okay. All my O blood friends had avoided it too with similar close calls, so anecdotally there seems to be some protection there at least! Roommates, friends, etc have all had it and have had many close calls with positive cases but have never been positive until now. ![]()
